If I may ask, what in particular do you like about the movie?

Interesting question. Why do all of us love this movie? In the first place,
I was emotionally taken by the storyline, regarding family, personal conflicts
and father-son relationship. In addition, I'm very fond of period pieces and
if they are based upon historical events it gets better. I particularly appreciate
war dramas. And last but not least, I consider this movie extremely well made
and produced, with FINE acting by all the cast (specially the main characters),
visually stunning and powerfully scored. I could find more elements, but these
are
enough to start with.

oh wow! where would i begin. okay one thing that really sticks
out is the way that everything has a purpose. you know they didn't
just kill thomas to make people cry. the way martin says "i miss
him" it hit me cause a lot of movies don't show that they are
still thinking of then that way that they just plannly say "i miss
him."
there are so many other things, like how well it's acted. i
really like mel gibson, and just the funny little thing like when
benjamin says "french" or all those little fun things.
