Mel scores again for his anglophobic audience

Posted by King George III on August 17, 2001 at 08:32:21:

How is it that the British officer Col. Tarleton is over demonised to a ridiculous degree in the form of Col. Tavington, yet the American rebel Francis Marion is sterilised to make him whiter than white in the form of Benjamin Martin?

Huh! I guess any form of honesty, decency or accuracy was out of the question in an American made and financed film on the subject of the American Revolution. Ho hum, next time Mel...

I am going to venture a guess that you are from the USS Great Briton, America's biggest air craft carrier. And since 1776 nobody in America cares what anybody in England thinks. Or perhaps from Australia, where American sailors go for a good time. Because that is where the company is the most... shall we say... "willing".
Think Freud: Sometimes a movie is just a movie.

Humor is fine, but the suggestive comment about Australia is uncalled for and further comments along that line will not be tolerated.

Please accept my apologies. You are correct it was uncalled for. I should not have allowed my emotions to over ride my judgment. How American of me. It should be noted that Australia suffered under the same tyrannical English… how did Paine put it… “Royal Brute” that we did. They should be extended the same courtesy as the other nations that were forced to put up with King George III.
