I understand that there were several scenes shot for The Patriot involving a subplot with a Cherokee scout working for the British. in fact, the scouts are mentioned as being the ones who bring in the wounded solider after Gabriel's rescue by Martin and the boys. There is also something about him on the official Patriot website but not much. Does anyone know anything about this character or why he was cut?

The last I heard about this character was a long ago rumor about casting that included Indians scouts. There is no sign of the Indian scouts in two different early drafts and I have read nothing about the character(s).
