9/6/08 - We here at The Patriot Resource spent Labor Day 2008 and much of the rest of the week coping with the destruction of Hurricane Gustav. We were without power from mid-morning Monday until late Friday afternoon. Fortunately, unlike many people in Louisiana we did not have flood or storm damage to our homes so that we can at least now have some semblance of normal routine. HURRICANE GUSTAV RADAR LOOP

What little news we picked up while our power was out made it apparent that the national media had quickly moved on to the Republican National Convention and the threat of Hanna once it was apparent that Hurricane Gustav hadn't swamped New Orleans. Take a look at that radar loop and notice that the storm pounded the rest of the state of Louisiana over the course of two days.
