A group of mutant humans comes under the care and tutelage of Professor Charles Xavier. After a few seasons, Fox went with X-Men Evolution, which had the X-Men as a bunch of teenagers, which led to high school-driven storylines.
Comments:
The animation is only average, but the storylines were first-rate and many came from the comic book's best plots. This series came nearly a decade before the blockbuster theatrical films during a resurgence in superhero cartoons which finally tackled the more mature storylines that had already become commonplace in the comic books.
