Miley Cyrus stars as the fourteen-year-old pop superstar with a double life, joined by Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mitchell Musso and Moises Arias as her friends and family. At home and school, she's Miley Stewart, a typical teenager, but when the lights go down and the curtain goes up, she emerges as the glamorous and talented Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana, potrayed by Miley Cyrus, is the latest Disney pop creation. Only this one has both a musical and acting pedigree because Cyrus is the daughter of country musician turned actor Billy Ray Cyrus, who also appears in Hannah Montana. As far as the show goes, it follows a familiar Disney formula of cookie-cutter scripts with a "moral of the week." The one wrinkle here is the secret identity and the deception that goes with it. With the complete season one DVD, Disney has done parents a favor by packaging the first twenty-six episodes of the their latest hit into one reasonable set rather than releasing them in a several volumes each with only a handful of episodes. The DVD extras are a brief home video of Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus walking around their farm and the premier episode of the 2008 Disney Channel Games in which Miley Cyrus performed.
