Senator Falco first appears on the German frontier along with Senator Gaius, when the two Senators attempt to draw Maximus into a discussion of politics which he resists. Later on, after Commodus has become Emperor, it becomes obvious that Falco has allied himself with Commodus against the Senators who support a return to a republic.
