Algeria
Abdelkader Bensalah, President of the National Peoples Assembly
September 12, 2001
To the Honorable Speaker of the
House of Representatives
Mr. Speaker,
The criminal acts perpetrated once more by terrorism, demonstrating in a
sinister manner its cowardice in targeting citizens of your country with such
a destructive force and indiscriminately has overwhelmed our conscience with
horror.
In the name of the National Peoples Assembly and in my own name, I
wish to present to you, in great sadness, our condolences and to request you,
Mr. Speaker, to convey to our Colleagues the Members of the House of Representatives
and to the families of the innocent victims our feelings of deep sympathy
in their grief and our huge pain for what has happened.
I would like to ensure you, Mr. President, that such unspeakable acts that
we have been continuously condemning with utmost energy as their destructive
effects have not spared lives in our midst, only strengthen more than ever
our determination to close ranks with all those in the world who uphold peace
and freedom and to combat with determination terrorism and its destructiveness
wherever it occurs.
Please accept, Mr. Speaker, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Abdelkader Bensalah
President of the National Peoples Assembly
