- Charles O'Hara is born in Lisbon, Portugal as an illegitimate son of James O'Hara.

December 23 - Charles O'Hara becomes a cornet in the 3rd Dragoons.

1756
January 14 - Charles O'Hara becomes a lieutenant in the Coldstream Foot Guards.

1766
July 25 - Charles O'Hara is appointed commandant at Goree, Senegal.

1778
July - Charles O'Hara arrives in America and commands at Sandy Hook.

1780
October - Charles O'Hara is promoted to Brigadier General and command of the Brigade of Guards.

1781
February 1 - Charles O'Hara commands the vanguard at the capture of Cowan's Ford.
March 15 - Charles O'Hara is wounded at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
October 19 - Charles O'Hara represents the British at the Surrender of Yorktown

February 9 - Charles O'Hara is exchanged and returns to England now promoted to Major General.

December 30 - Charles O'Hara is appointed Governor of Gibraltar.

- Charles O'Hara is promoted to full General.

February 25 - Charles O'Hara dies of wounds in Gibraltar.
