Westworld was written and directed by Michael Crichton. Unlike some of his books, there isn't much depth to this film. It's a guilty pleasure worth at least one viewing. It retreads the theme of relying too much on technology and what could go wrong. The film is set at an amusement park populated by androids whose purpose is to service the fantasies of the human visitors. Something goes wrong and the androids go haywire.

The main character is Peter Martin, a skinny business-type whose personal fantasy was to shoot up Westworld and kill the gunslinger in a shoot-out. When his friend is killed by the gunslinger, he makes a run for it with evil glaring Yul Brynner in pursuit. They cross into Medieval World and then Roman World, so there can be some knights, sword fighting, damsels in the distress and debauchery. Does Martin make it? Go watch it and find out for yourself.
