A Black Rider rides up nearly to Farmer Maggot's door and asks about Baggins. Farmer Maggot fearfully tells the Black Rider that all the Baggins' live in Hobbiton. He then quickly stumbles back inside his home and closes the door.
As Frodo and Sam are making their way through his fields, they are run into by Merry and Pippin. Farmer Maggot can be heard chasing them as they end up rushing off the steep edge of his fields..
