Corsairs of Umbar:
The Corsairs of Umbar are descendants of the Gondorians, but these Men have taken to the sea as pirates and mercenaries. As such they are loyal only to themselves. Umbar is located to the south of Gondor.
When Elrond beings the reforged Andúril to Aragorn at Dunharrow, he warns that the Corsairs will also join Sauron's attack on Minas Tirith following the Orcs and the Haradrim. They are briefly seen aboard their ships sailing for Gondor in a scene that includes a cameo by Director Peter Jackson. They had been paid by Sauron to join in his attack on Gondor. They were to sail up the river to Osgiliath. Their ships did arrive at Osgiliath slightly behind schedule, but they bore Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and the army of the dead, who had intercepted the Corsairs after they had emerged from the Paths of the Dead.
