Doc
is a dark film that takes the shine off Wyatt Earp's mythic statue, but
does so by being no more historically accurate than other early Wyatt Earp Western.
It appeared at a time when films like The Wild Bunch and Bonnie and Clyde were
pushing the envelope for violence. Unlike those films, this one suffers from
a lack of a good story, although it is populated with good actors.
