Denethor In The Two Towers Extended Edition:
In Faramir's flashback, Denethor arrives in Osgiliath after Boromir has successfully led its recapture by Gondorian forces. He praises Boromir, but has nothing but scorn for Faramir, blaming him for its fall in the first place. Boromir tries to defend his brother, but Denethor will not hear it. Instead, he charges Boromir with going to Rivendell to attend a meeting that Elrond has called. Denethor has learned that it concerns the One Ring. He wants Boromir to go and bring it back to Gondor and only trusts his older son to succeed at the task.
