Merry In The Two Towers:
Merry and Pippin are carried towards Isengard by the Uruk-hai. After they enter the land of Rohan, the Uruk-hai argue with the Orcs over whether to kill and eat them. Just as it appears that they are doomed to be eaten, a Rohirrim patrol attacks the orc band. They are able to cut themselves free and escape into Fangorn Forest. An Orc, Grishnákh, follows them into the forest. He has ahold of Merry, when Treebeard kills the Orc.
Treebeard explains that he is an Ent and a treeherder. The Hobbits tell him about Saruman and he calls an Entmoot, but the Ents decide not to help. Pippin asks him to take them southern edge of the forest. When Treebeard sees how the edge of the forest has been cut, he gets upset and calls the other Ents. Merry and Pippin join him in the Ent attack on Isengard.
