Yemen
President Ali Abdullah Saleh
Letter of Condolences to President Bush
September 11, 2001
Honorable George W. Bush
President
United States of America
Honorable President:
It is with regret and sorrow that I learned of the outrageous terrorist acts
which took place in the friendly United States of America. While I am really
shocked with this detestable catastrophe, I express my sympathy with you and
the people of your nation.
In my name and on behalf of the Government and people of Yemen, I would like
to convey our deepest condolences and bereavement to the families of the victims.
We would like to affirm that we, in the Republic of Yemen strongly denounce
all acts of terrorism whatever their form and source. Such acts should not retract
our efforts to curb and resist the perpetrators whoever they maybe. Such acts
constitute a serious threat to the security, stability and peace in the world.
