Act 3:

In the pilots' ready room Lee and Adama watch Lee's gun camera footage that showed Kara's Viper blowing up. Included in the clip is her saying "they're waiting for me." Adama says that he wants to believe her but that Roslin is right that Kara is acting exactly like the Cylons would want. Lee guesses that they won't change course. Adama says that they won't and will continue to follow her lead.

Lee paces for a minutes and asks if Roslin is still staying in Adama's quarters. He says that it's just until they find quarters for her while she finishes her treatment.

Lee sits back down and Adama then thanks Lee for having gone into combat. Lee says that everyone was needed. Adama says that they still are and offers Lee his officer's pins back. Lee says that he took them off for the wrong reasons, but that he needed a change and to move on. He says that he's been contacted about an opening in the government and he feels that he could make a important contribution there.

Lee wonders how Adama would have reacted Zak had been the one to have climbed out of the Viper cockpit and that Zak were a Cylon and always had been. He wonders if that would change how they felt about him.

In the "unused compartment, " Baltar walks over to watch Derrick as he and Leanna sleep, Baltar kneels down and prays to god to not let Derrick die. He says that it's not fair that Derrick, an innocent child, while he lives. He says that after all his sins, he's the one that deserves it. He isn't asking for forgiveness, but rather offers his life in Derrick's place. Some of the women observe him praying.

Paulla leads Baltar to a washroom. She says that his prayer was moving and that they look to him for guidance. Baltar says that they shouldn't. She laughs and takes out a razor blade.

Baltar has shaved his beard. As he finishes up, Charlie Connor walks in. He greets Baltar as Mr. President. The girl suggests that they leave. Baltar instead talks to Connor. Connor says that he and his son met Baltar on New Caprica. Baltar asks about Kevin and Connor says that Kevin is dead and that Baltar's police killed him. He punches Baltar.

The girl moves to leave, but Shaunt is waiting outside. He grabs her and pulls her toward the back. As he does so, Baltar pleads for them to leave her alone. Baltar grows silent when Connor puts the razor blade to Baltar's throat.
