Morwen lives in the Westfold, which is being ravaged by Dunlendings, Wild Men loyal to Saruman. She sends her children, Éothain and Freda, to the safety of Edoras and to warn of what is happening. She is reunited with her children when they arrive at Helm's Deep after Edoras is evacuated.
