In The Two Towers:
Snowmane is King Théoden's steed. He carries Théoden into the skirmish against the Wargs and the charge out into Helm's Deep.
In The Return of the King:
Snowmane carries King Théoden from Helm's Deep first to Isengard and then back to Edoras. After the Beacons of Gondor are lit, calling for the aid of the Rohirrim, Snowmane carries Théoden to Dunharrow and then into battle at Pelennor Fields. Snowmane is killed by the Witchking's Winged Beast during the battle.
