The West Wing has won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 along with 20 individual Emmys awarded to the writers, actors and crew. Moreover, the show holds the record for the most Emmys won by a series in a single season winning nine during its first season on the air. By winning the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series four years in a row, the show is tied with Hill Street Blues and L.A. Law for most Emmys won in that category.
