From Kristin[Since we know that Elle is in the flashbacks with HRG in this episode, that both of them are involved with Sylar's "creation" and that Elle and Sylar have a storyline, all signs seem to point to Elle being the mother, but this is Heroes and almost nothing is predictible anymore.] 10/29/08: HRG and Elle were "complicit" in the "creation of Sylar," which leads to more backstory on Sylar. 10/22/08: To prepare for the confrontation ahead, Hiro follows respected businessman, husband and father Arthur Petrelli (guest star Robert Forster) in the days before he "died" -- to discover what drove him to create rival company Pinehearst and strike at Angela. Later, a moment unfolds where Sylar, horrified and guilt-ridden, might have stopped his murderous pursuit of abilities -- that is, if H.R.G. and Elle had swayed from their monstrous assignment. Finally, under the wing of Company man Thompson (guest star Eric Roberts), agent-in-training Meredith (guest star Jessalyn Gelsig) watches her new life go up in smoke, following the arrival of her hot-headed brother. From NBC 10/19/08: Location pics seemed to indicate flashbacks to Season 1 with Peter and possibly HRG and Mohinder as well were filmed near the end of Volume 3. [Based on the timing of other location pics and the confirmation that Sylar's first murder would be revisited in this episode, we're guessing that these flashbacks are in this episode.] 10/19/08: Elle's appearance at the Bennet house apparently leads to her working with HRG.
