Legolas In The Two Towers:

Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas track the Uruk-hai through the Eastemnet Gullies and then enter the land of Rohan. On the Plains of Rohan they encounter a force of Rohirrim led by Éomer. When he is short with Gimli, Legolas defends Gimli. The three are then disheartened when they are told that the Rohirrim had wiped out that force of Uruk-hai with no survivors. However, when they scout the area of the skirmish, they end up tracking Merry and Pippin into Fangorn Forest where they find Gandalf. Gandalf says he has returned to finish his task and assures them that Merry and Pippin are alive and well.

Gandalf leads them to Edoras and the Golden Hall, the home of the throne of Rohan. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas watch Gandalf's back as he approaches King Théoden, reproaches Gríma Wormtongue and then breaks Saruman's spell. Legolas then joins Aragorn on the evacuation of the city to Helm's Deep. He participates in the defense of the refugees against the Warg raid near the White Mountains. Once at Helm's Deep, he has words with Aragorn over the hopelessness of their task of defending Helm's Deep. He later apologizes and fights along side Gimli in the defense of the Deeping Wall until it is breached. He joins Aragorn and King Théoden on a final ride out of the Hornburg.
