The Golden Girls Season 1 Episodes:

Episode 1: Pilot - Beatrice Arthur, Betty White and Rue McClanahan are Dorothy, Rose and Blanche, women who share Blanche's Miami house. In the opener, Dorothy's outspoken mother (Estelle Getty) arrives, and Blanche's beau proposes marriage.

Episode 2: Guess Who's Coming to the Wedding - Dorothy invites her ex to their daughter's wedding, but only because it'll give her the opportunity to get revenge.

Episode 3: Rose the Prude - Rose has qualms about sharing her stateroom on an upcoming cruise to the Bahamas with a man she likes.

Episode 4: The Transplant - Blanche's sister, who always took everything that meant anything to Blanche, now wants a kidney.

Episode 5: The Triangle - A doctor Dorothy dates also gets Blanche's pulse racing---until he makes a pass at her.

Episode 6: On Golden Girls - A visit by Blanche's undisciplined grandson gives new meaning to "generation gap."

Episode 7: The Competition - It's Sophia and Rose vs. Dorothy and Blanche in a bowling tournament. The bet: if Sophia's team wins, Dorothy (Beatrice Arthur) will lend her air fare for a trip to Sicily with an old beau.

Episode 8: Break-In - Terrified by a burglary, the girls explore means to protect themselves, including a dog, an alarm system, Mace and a gun.

Episode 9: Blanche and the Younger Man

Episode 10: The Heart Attack - Sophia suffers an apparent heart attack and the girls nervously await the paramedics, who are delayed by a storm.

Episode 11: Stan's Return
- The return of Dorothy's ex fans an old flame that somehow managed to survive their bitter divorce.

Episode 12: The Custody Battle - Dorothy's wealthy sister arrives with a proposal that's hard to refuse: she wants Sophia to live with her in California.

Episode 13: A Little Romance - Rose's interest in a very small man is completely reciprocated, so her only hangup is more a difference in altitude than attitude.

Episode 14: That Was No Lady - Dorothy is thrilled over her new man (Alex Rocco) who happens to be married.

Episode 15: In a Bed of Rose's - Rose's bed is no bed of roses for the man she spends the night with: he's dead when she wakes up.

Episode 16: The Truth Will Come Out - Rose is strangely apprehensive about a visit from her daughter and granddaughter, who are coming to discuss her will.

Episode 17: Nice and Easy - When it comes to dating, Blanche runs second to her visiting niece (Hallie Todd), who's out with a new man all night every night.

Episode 18: The Operation - Dorothy is having trouble facing minor surgery on her foot.

Episode 19: Second Motherhood - Blanche is romanced by a wealthy suitor, while Rose and Dorothy do battle with the bathroom plumbing.

Episode 20: Adult Education - Blanche's professor makes a pass, and makes it clear that unless she obliges, she'll never pass the course.

Episode 21: The Flu - The flu may keep Blanche, Rose and Dorothy from an awards banquet, but a healthy Sophia (Estelle Getty) needs a date.

Episode 22: Job Hunting - Rose is grieving when she loses her job as a grief counselor: she's 55 and needs work, but has no other job experience.

Episode 23: Blind Ambitions - Rose's sister, independent all her life, can't accept the fact that she's now blind and needs help.

Episode 24: Big Daddy - Blanche is thunderstruck to learn that her father (Murray Hamilton) has sold everything he owns to launch a career as a country singer.

Episode 25: The Way We Met - Rose is sure she spotted a UFO, and Blanche (Rue McClanahan) is sure she'll seduce the one man she couldn't in college.
