Petty Officer 2nd Class Dualla serves in CIC as the Communications Officer. One of her responsibilities is coordinating FTL jumps within the fleet, in which she possibly overlooked the Olympic Carrier during the series of jumps the fleet was making during its initial escape from the Cylons. President Laura Roslin's aide, Billy Keikeya, has a personal romantic interest in her. His recommendation of her for a mission results in her being taking hostage by Tom Zarek during a prisoner break-out onboard the Astral Queen. She is from Sagittaron as is Zarek and she argues with Billy in that Zarek is nothing but a terrorist.
After they are released unharmed, Dualla and Billy have apparently begun to pursue a romantic relationship. On one date, however, Billy pumps Dualla for information concerning Commander William Adama's activities and behaviors during a time when President Roslin has begun to suspect that Adama might be a Cylon.
