Eowyn first appears as her brother Éomer brings their wounded cousin to Edoras. She remains in Golden Hall when he is banished. She is hopefully of love when she meets Aragorn, but he continues to tell her that they are not meant to be, that his heart is for Arwen. She is part of the evacuation to Helm's Deep and even put in command when the men go off to fight the Wargs. She is saddened to learn that Aragorn feel, but is later overjoyed to see him alive.
Eowyn is at Golden Hall when the men return from and celebrate the victory at Helm's Deep. She rides with the men to Dunharrow where they are gathering to ride to the aid of Gondor. When the men leave, she disguises herself and rides into the battle at Pelennor Fields where she is wounded in her fight with the Witchking. She is last glimpsed standing beside Faramir at Aragorn's coronation.
