High Court of Gondor:
- Appears in The Return of the King
- Located within The Citadel in Minas Tirith
The High Court is where the Steward of Gondor holds court. Denethor receives Gandalf and Pippin there upon their arrival in Minas Tirith. Later, while Pippin awaits his command, Denethor receives and then rebukes his son, Faramir, after Osgiliath falls. He shames Faramir into undertaking a suicidal counterattack on Osgiliath.
Following the victory on Pelennor Fields, a council is held in the High Court where Gimli enjoys sitting in the throne. Aragorn wants to march to the Black Gate of Mordor to distract Sauron from concentrating all his will on finding Frodo and the One Ring. After a short debate, everyone agrees to the plan.
