The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Places: Grey Havens
Grey Havens:
- Appears in The Return of the King
The Grey Havens are located to the northwest of The Shire. The time of the Elves in Middle Earth is ending and so they are making their way to the Grey Havens. From there they sail into the West across the sea for the Undying Lands. In a scene in The Fellowship of the Ring: Special Extended Edition, Frodo and Sam see a party of Elves making their way through The Shire to the Grey Havens.
It is the journey to the Grey Havens and the Undying Lands beyond that Elrond keeps trying to convince Arwen to make.
At the end of The Return of the King the Hobbits travel to the Grey Havens with Gandalf. Frodo and the other Ringbearers then sail into the West.
