The Cylon Raiders are the equivalent to the Vipers, but pack far more powerful weaponry. The Raiders are equipped with jammers that render any vessel defenseless that uses networked computer systems. As the survivors flee with President Roslin, Commander Adama and the Galactica, the Cylon Raiders often serve as the wolves nipping at their heels.
After tangling with a Cylon Raider patrol and crashing on a moon, Lieutenant Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace finds a downed Cylon Raider and manages to fly it back to the fleet. This find allows them to learn that the raiders are partly organic and thus require no pilot. Later, Lieutenant Sharon 'Boomer' Valerii suggests to Chief Tyrol that the Cylons treat the raiders like pets. Lastly, Caprica Eight (Helo's Sharon) confirmed to Kara that the Raiders are resurrected, so that their battle experience isn't lost.
Based on that, it is likely, but not confirmed that the Raider nicknamed Scar might have been the same Raider that Kara had battled around that moon that she ended up crashing on.
