The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Places: Buckleberry Ferry
Buckleberry Ferry:
- Appears in The Fellowship of the Ring
- Crosses the River Brandywine
As the Hobbits are making their way through The Shire, Merry leads them to the Buckleberry Ferry. As they near the ferry, some of The Nazgûl catch up with them. They make a run for the ferry, barely reaching it before the Nazgûl. By reaching the ferry first, this gives them some breathing room and time to reach Bree since it is the only river crossing for nearly twenty miles.
